It is an amazing and exciting moment in time for Sing & Shout Foods! We have been selected as an H-E-B Quest for Texas Best Finalist! We are honored and thrilled by this opportunity for our products to have such awesome exposure.
Wow—what a journey- nope- let me say it right-what a ROLLERCOASTER ride we have had to get here! From the very first batch of salsa I remember making when I was just a kid in southeast Texas, salsa has been a big part of my food life. We always had fresh salsa in the fridge when I was growing up— I still feel like a day isnʼt quite complete if I haven’t had salsa! It seems only fitting that all the roads of life- family, church, business and food all converge now with salsa still playing a leading role.
I am truly amazed when I realize that we are on the brink of such a marvelous opportunity offered by H-E-B! Because we are a nonprofit, there is no way that even we at Sing & Shout can really grasp the far-reaching positive effects that will impact the lives of so many kids and families in Texas as the company grows into itʼs full potential.
What is so emotionally touching for me is going back through the photos of past events and partnering efforts with which we have been involved and seeing the lives that have already been changed. The willing hands of the people involved with these efforts have made a better life possible for these kids and families—some of whom we are still actively mentoring at the present time.
You see, before there WAS a Sing & Shout Foods there was the compassionate outreach from the hearts and hands of the Calvary Apostolic Church congregation—always pointing to God as our ultimate source of help, but also reaching out to give our fellow Texans a hand up.
We are beyond words grateful to H-E-B for believing in us and selecting us to compete in the Quest for Texas Best Contest. We have progressed in so many ways and will continue to do so, but I am looking back for a moment and seeing how far we have come. It is somewhat overwhelming to know that the lives positively influenced will increase exponentially as Sing & Shout achieves increased funding. That seriously makes ME want to sing! (And cry:)
There are so many ways we will help improve the quality of life for the people around us— with the availability of good role models and funds to implement the activities at Sing & Shout we can teach children (and parents) to make better choices which in turn will bring hope and the chance for a brighter future for all. Our dreams are soaring high now because the opportunity for miracles in the lives of our fellow Texans is as limitless as the Texas sky.
Hope your day is full of singing too!
Blessings to you all,
Treva Williamson
